T25 Autosleeper Water Filler

Post by mbcamper on Mon Feb 17, 2014 6:19 pm

Got a little problem with my 1986 Autosleeper.  The water filler has rusted away causing the pipe to drop and rub against the passenger wheel!

The tube is attached to the on board water tank which is located under the van by the sliding door.  The filler is here by the passenger seat:

Basically the filler bit / elbow is rusted beyond repair and I need a new one.  Question is, does anyone know where I can purchase one?    I've been looking at marine deck fillers, but they all use 1.5" pipe which is too big for my 1.25" pipe!

Hello and welcome mbcamper…… the stalwarts of this excellent forum require that you use the “Welcome Section” and give a brief resume of your background/history/interests/vehicle model before asking for help.

Nonetheless, Have you explored the possibilities of using domestic polypipe right back to the water tank.   Another alternative would be “CAK tanks  (http://www.caktanks.co.uk/) or use their online purchasing at www.leisurelines.net

good luck   Bob

Thanks for the replies.  The challenge I have is that most modern tank fittings use a bigger diameter pipe than on my van.  I've contacted Autosleepers directly and they don't do the parts any more.

Looks like I'm going to have to improvise and the domestic polypipe option is one I'm going to consider.

I will post in the welcome section :-)

Thanks

Hi there,

Don't despair it can all be sorted!

I use this stuff for a variety of things, one of which is making pipes fit and another is repairing rusted and broken bits and pieces.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=milliput&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=28031944713&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1337255474448818934&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_3i5rb7j6qw_e

Milliput is incredibly versatile, easy to mould and shape and sets like concrete after it has cured.

Alternatively, you could try this instead of Milliput:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_209003_langId_-1_categoryId_255230

That should repair any fittings that have corroded so here's some 32mm (1.25") flexible pipe:

http://www.swelluk.com/pond/pipework-fittings-60/flexible-pipework-misc-fittings-283/swell-anti-kink-pond-hose-997.html?ref=shopping&utm_source=product-search&utm_medium=googlebase&gclid=CLnUi6731rwCFQfItAod_HIAaw

There must be a "Pond Shop" somewhere near you.  up!

Alternatively, how about this from Screwfix?

http://www.screwfix.com/p/universal-32mm-compression-flexible-waste-pipe-320mm/86148#

Just remember, you don't need an exact replacement you just need something that works as well or better!  gimmefive

Hope this helps.  allthumbz

Best regards,
