fridge winter covers

Post by Celticbiker on Sun Feb 09, 2014 4:45 pm

On a couple of over night stops during this recent bad weather we have found that the wind fairly hotels through the fridge vents, around the fridge and into the van making it constantly cold or expensive to heat.
My question is,  if on ehu, is it OK to keep the winter covers on to stop the wind blowing in?

There is a recent long thread that includes much on fridge vent covers but in summary the covers should be on all the time when the average temperature is below 9 deg C.

They should be removed when the temperature is above that however the fridge is powered or the fridge will not cool efficiently.

If you are not using the fridge whilst driving it is also recommended that the covers should be on irrespective of temperature.

If the ambient temperature is eight degrees or below "Yes".
