Spotted Dago in France Empty Spotted Dago in France

We were staying at the Motorhome Aire at Wissant in Nothern France when an Auto Sleeper Executive pulled in and was immediately given away by the stickers reading Akrovalve which we know is Dago's business... We got to speak briefly but sadly our dog being the nature she is lunged at Dago (Sorry again) spilling a mug of coffee all over me and didn't make a great impression I'm sure!

Still, nice to meet you Dago & I hope we meet in better circumstances the next time up!

We stayed there on our last night two weeks ago. Nice beach and nice little town. Easy run to the tunnel and free - what more could you want.

Hi Peter

Yes ideal as you say for the tunnel and thats why we stayed there on our last night. Its amazing how many of these facilities are free or very cheap to stay at, we used the one at Lake Annecy as well which was also free but hard to get a pitch as many stay longer than the designated 24 hrs.

We've more or less given up camping in this country as the cost is astronomical in comparison to France.

Nice to meet you CC & the missus too!  wave
It was our first time (if only for a few hours) at Wissant, but will definitely be used again, with more time to visit the Town & beach.
As it is so close to the Tunnel.

Peter, we also like France & Belgium aires, even those who charge  hugegrins

For us living so close it's easy to get away and visit on an ad hoc basis, which makes their style of camping very enjoyable.  allthumbz
This time of year the Mosel is also a good area, with plenty of wine festivals going on.
Shame we hadn't the time to get down there this year.

Look forward to meeting up again CC sooner than later.

I'm sorely tempted to say that the dog showed good taste..... Or was it Peter that tasted good? Sorry - could not resist it. blushes

Slightly more seriously - thanks for the heads up on this, plus the warning about the dog, though ours is an utter oaf as well; they are simply guaranteed to embarrass at the worst possible time...  Cheers up!

Hi Dave  wave
I didn't feel a thing, as it was just a friendly nuzzle. Shame though that CC lost his coffee.  snigger

The day before at Bergues, another friendly dog tried to eat the leftovers wrapped in a paperbag, that I was taking to the waste dump.
It's obviously a "thing" dogs have for me !  Whistle1
