Heater pipes Empty Heater pipes

Post by stepps110 Tue Sep 17, 2013 5:43 pm

Has anyone else had the problem and a solution for the heater pipe that keeps falling off from the Webasto heater?

It is held on with a jubilee clip and the front one falls off every now and then when driving. I think it will be the wind resistance/buffeting that works it loose.
Mine came off and by the time I had stopped it had worn a hole through!

Apart from that loving my Cotswold.smile!

Seems to be very common on the Cotswold. I was told by webasto the best way to cure it was to fit a self tapping screw into the junction of the pipe to the heater preferably through the jubilee clip. They haven't come off since - just a shame autosleepers or the dealer couldn't do it before selling us the van!

I think it maybe wind flow while driving, maybe AutoSleeper could put a small aluminium deflector in front of pipe.
I will try self tappers, thanks.
