Post by jandd on Sat Sep 14, 2013 3:51 pm

Hi, we are waiting for our ferry at Holyhead ( brought forward a day because of weather forecast ) can anyone recommend a campsite near Dublin that we can stay at tonight ?

Thanks,

Probably too late now but there is really only one major site near Dublin.

Camac Valley which is well signposted from the motorway heading for Cork/Limerick N7 or 8 after the M50.

There used to be a small site near Howth or malahide on the North side of Dublin, name not known.

Howth harbour is very popular as an unofficial 'Aire'.

Lots of good sites south of Dublin in County Wicklow, Roundwood or Red Cross or Donard.

Not enough time tonight to give more info, but there is a book of sites available from any tourist office.

You could also join our local Forum (free) which covers all of the island.

www.motorhomecraic.com

Loads of advice on sites and wild spots, tell them I sent you. up!

Enjoy your visit.

Thanks very much Davy, yes didn't get your reply in time but did stay at Camac Valley which was very convenient from the port ( about 30 minutes drive ) just got free Wi fi at a lovely little site in Glenbeigh ( Glenross ) on the ring of Kerry, we can highly recommend it.

Thanks again,
