Yes you can I decided to go down the 3 point rather then the inertia real route less work. It is still work in progress until after the next mot for obvious reasons the mot is due 25 of November but will be done soon after the 26 October.

You Can buy a kit bit expensive though as is anything VW camper. I bought a very long 3 point belt. Aka only one grandchild at a time camping.

Regarding the fitting there's a hole for your long belt per side just where the floor above the engine starts at an angle then you'll need go outside the van and remove the plastic air intake at the rear quarter (behind the rear side window) for the top fixing. Drill an hole and fix top mount of the log belt.

Halfway along the floor fix the short anchor bolt for the short bit some Van's have this hole some needs drilling / strength plate added. I have photos btw.

The original post is over 3 years old so I doubt the poster is still pondering on this but that could be useful to other members.

I'm quite certain a really safe and secure job can be done without too much trouble, but would it invalidate your insurance?

I think I would check that out first. I know there are regulations about seat belt fittings, but I don't know any detail - just enough to be concerned!  scratch head

OMG Paul doesn't time fly lol.

3years ago I had a Renault trafic autosleeper bus. But as you say might help others. It's the top bolt help I was given by a long served VW T3 expert who I have know a long time that told me how he fitted rear seatbelts via a bolt behind the air vents

Next post feck insurance.
