Post by DougC on Thu Jul 04, 2013 1:11 pm

Hi yet again looking at picking your communal brains.......up!

her who must be obeyed has suggested that we do the tourist bit to the great smoke "darn sarf" winks or London as t' southern softies call it..

Anyway thought was travel to somewhere inside M25 park the van and use Tube/Train/Bus to do the brightlights ... so any suggestions please look here

Just a thought, is your van LEZ compliant?

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/lez/default.aspx

That could influence your plans.

The C&CC site just off the A414 at Hertford, (south) 11 miles north of the M25

Hertford east station about 1/2mile goes straight into Liverpool st station.

The C.C. site Wyatt's Covert is brilliant and very well placed for visiting Central London. Can recommend from personal experience.

Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site. This site is open to members and non members. Has good links into London. Dont forget to check on this website http://www.tfl.gov.uk/lezlondon to see if you are within the low emmisions zone for your vehicle, I believe that if they are not low enough you have to pay a fee.

When we went to London, we stayed on Crystal Palace Caravan Club site which again is open to members and non members, again check your emmisions, 10 mins walk from the site is the bus stop into London, no 3, which runs approx every 5-10 mins. If you go enjoy, we did.

That's an interesting Link PB. At least now I know I'm legal when I go down there.

My first thought reading the original post was "don't go inside the M25". I'm looking for a site for next year so will keep an eye on this thread. up!
