Motorhome overturns on A55
I was driving around midday along the A55 to pick up in Kinmel Bay. I had the radio on (Radio 2) and Sally Traffic came on with a road report - campervan overturned causing long queues east-bound on the A55. As I was travel west I came across the incident on the opposite carriageway. I am saddened to say the 'campervan' was in fact an Autosleeper Monocoque, sorry couldn't make out which model, but it was a Peugeot. It had spun a full 180 degrees and toppled over. I hope that it was not from a member of this forum and even if not, I sincerely hope no-one was injured and if they were I hope nothing too serious. There was a Symbol in the queue. If they are members here, pehaps they could provide more details. Newspaper report and photos here...

OOooooh! That looks painful.
Also hope that no-one was injured, Forum Member or otherwise.
I wonder what happened?

It was at the end of a layby. That road is the nearest thing we have to a motorway in North Wales and very busy traffic travelling at 70mph. I have stopped in that layby and it is very hard to leave it with traffic coming from behind at 70. I reckon either it came out of the layby too slow and was hit by another vehicle or another vehicle pulled out of the layby in front of the motorhome. Either way it caused it to spin and topple over.

Hi Paul.
That looks like its an Executive or a Talisman. I just hope they weren't injured. Would be interested to know how it happend.
I have always thought my Exec was one of the most stable of vans. So find this quite worrying,
Putting that aside. My sympathies go out to the people concerned and like you I hope it was not one of our members.
Whisky.
