1990 T25 VW Autosleeper Trooper

Post by Wig49 on Mon May 27, 2013 3:04 pm

Hello, I am new to the forum and apologise if I am posting this in the wrong section. I have a 1990 T25 VW trooper. I have not had it long and it is going to be a bit of a project. I am currently trying to do something with the interior soft furnishings which are in a bit of a state. I am trying to source the original curtains which the guide describes as "pink diagonal" together with the seat/bed material which is called "scilly". I am missing two of the bigger front cab curtains and need to restore the back seat along the top back and bottom front edge. I was wondering whether anyone is thinking of replacing their curtains or seat covers who currently has the same interior as me and would be willing to either let me have or let me buy their old ones. If I can get hold of some of the same material I should be able to then re-do my seats and make up some additional curtains.

Any advice or help with regard to this subject would be gratefully received! think_smiley_46

Hi Wig49

You will probably struggle to find the same material due to the age of your van, even on e-bay seats / cushions curtains etc ,rarely come up.

Depending on how much you want to spend / do , the only option will probably be to re-upholster. Another trick (again if you are feeling brave), could be to remove the material from the back of the rear seat and re-use the material where you need it most. Then replace the seat back with a complementary material from a material shop.

Curtain wise you may be better off just replacing.

Not much help if you want to restore to original condition though

Regards

Hi

I replaced the curtains from my 1986 T25 Autosleeper and still have the ones I took out.  They are pink and I would say original.  They are however rather tired, some have holes but not all. You may be able to use them.  Im not sure why I kept them and you are welcome to them.

I can probably look up the colour they are from the manual I have.

Let me know if your interested?

Hi Simon

Do you still have them?

Just got my buss and it only has the curtains in the pop-top.

If you are searching remember the Trident of the same vintage would have similar colour scheme,   Take some photos.
