Our Nuevo ES has a roof ladder (do they all?). Does this restrict/prevent the fitting of a bike rack? Oh and is it safe to stand on the roof?

Hi Oldfolk
Quiet a lot of discussion on the strength of the roof on various vans, I'm sure I have read that 75 kg is the limit on parts of the roof, i.e above the showeroom/wc ,but don't quote me on that.
The rails on the bike rack should slide along clearing the ladder, I had mine that way when I had a smaller Fiamma 320 box on the rack, now I have a 500 box, it covers the roof ladder.

Hi Oldfolkie

Our Nuevo ES was fitted with a ladder and bike rack by the supplying dealer. Ladder was not a standard fit in 2008. Pic below shows them both fitted. I have never stood on the roof of any motorhome despite assurances from A/S on the weight limit. Personally I don't thinks its worth the risk. Also you might fall off ! smile!
Regards
John

Hi John
Same as my Bike rack and ladder, I see you have roof rails across yours, should get your surf boards up there up!

Hi both,
Thanks very much. John your picture allays all my fears. Still not sure about standing on the roof but it would help to enable me to clean the roof lights properly. At the moment , however, it is blowing a gale so heights are definitely out for the time being.

You can get to most of the roof via the Heki 3 roof vent, I clean the roof from there with a mop on an extended pole, then clean the back end standing on either my podium steps or ladder. up!
