Off white plastic trim - any ideas?

Post by Cello297 on Tue Mar 26, 2013 9:48 pm

Hi all, anyone

Like so many not quite new motorhomes, the plastic bits on the body have gone a rather unattractive yellowish tint. Has anyone got a magic formula to bring it back to the colour of the rest of the body?

I know there are many of you out there girl-thinking who have ways and means??

Looking forward to a raft of information, at least one bit of which I can beneficially use! innocent

This topic came up recently.
I think the only 'true' way was repainting white!!
I have tried all sorts with no great success.

I have seen this work on motorcycle plastic mudguards, but it may be a little drastic for a motorhome;

Remove the item.
Carefully scrape the top layer of plastic off
Use a hot air paint stripper to melt the new top layer of plastic.

Hey presto!

No?

I thought not....
