Is this a genuine AS

Post by Paulmold on Mon Mar 18, 2013 6:48 pm

Not seen one like this before, unusual roof shape and rear annexe. Is this really an AS or an imposter with AS graphics? What do you think Frank?

Wow, love the split rear tailgate shower room! I've never seen a genuine A-S like that - in fact I don't recall ever seeing one with the small front overhang above the cab... Agreed, Frank should know.

The Autosleeper name on the front bonnet is hyphenated have Autosleeper ever used hyphens.

I thought that the hyphen was an Auto-sleeper "signature"

It might have been at one time but if so, it's been extensively modified winks
The interior looks like an Auto-Sleeper layout for an RHT or RV50 but the roof and rear tailgate are not, in my opinion, original.
At a guess, I would say that it is an RV50 with the pop-top replaced with an "off the shelf" hightop and the tailgate / shower room added in place of the rear doors.
Interesting conversion up! Worth £1800 (again in my opinion)

My Rapport has a hyphen and seems original - at any rate, I had the habitation service done at Autosleepers HQ last year and they did not query it, in fact the guy who did the service on the interior claimed that he was around at the time (1993) when it was built and was admiring the quality of the (his?) woodwork!

To the best of my knowledge (which I'll admit is not vast) The company's name is Auto-Sleeper. Not Autosleeper or AutoSleeper. Both of which I have seen on fake Auto-Sleepers IYSWIM?
