Forum width problem Empty Forum width problem

Post by Admin Sat Dec 22, 2012 12:27 pm

Apologies all - In an effort to add a bit of festive cheer to the site, a Christmas background to the forum was added a short while ago and alterations were made to the width of the forum and this has resulted in the current 'out of sync' look.

This is a problem with the forums software and not a problem with your computer or software. We are working at resolving this at our earliest opportunity, but our settings will not let us currently reverse the forum dimension settings despite a re-sync of the forum.

As we have not had this issue before, I'm not quite sure what the cause is but we hope to be back to normal as soon as possible! xmas_smilie

Thanks Dutto

Seems we have now fixed the issue. The width will still be less in order to show the festive background (compared to our usual size) hopefully it will still appear OK on different screen sizes and resolutions. As always, could members let us know if not.

We have decided 'Not' to add the falling snow script that we had last year, as I know one or two of you found it annoying xmas_lol

Best Regards

Admin.

The only thing out of sync on my computer screen is the header banner but I'm sure I can put up with it.

Fine on my 15" laptop screen as can be seen here in this screen shot......
Haven't checked on my iPad Mini since the changes made today, but the banner has been slightly wider on the iPad Mini ever since I got it, so will check how it looks now compared to before.

Hi Admin,

No problem here, I use 2 laptops, 15" and 17" and it all fits fine, looks good and very festive -and why not!

We have a right collection, the pc's are ok being 20 inch screens but the netbook and Rogers phone could benefit from a bit narrower screen

We are looking into seeing if we can auto re-size the banner image as it no longer automatically adjusts to match the screen size. I suspect this is down to an update by our hosts and not down to our forums software, as this never seemed to be an issue until recently. If we adjust the width of the board as it currently is, it will force the banner to extend beyond the forum tables for most users - but I do fully understand what you are saying and hopefully we can get a fix for this sometime very soon.

Regards
