awning

Post by shelldrake on Mon Jan 14, 2013 1:23 pm

Currently in sunny Spain and on site there are 3 motorhomes with the Kampa Motor Rally 260L awning. This is a popular alternative to the roll out awning which flaps in the wind (and its windy here now for the next few days).
I have rang various companies and found that Tamworth Camping 01827 250095 stock it and I am waiting a reply and costings etc.
IF you are looking at getting an awning like this pse be advised that they are 260 to 390 in width and 250-270 to 270-290 in height and fit to the wind out awning etc.

Re: Awning

Post by Dutto on Mon Jan 14, 2013 8:03 pm

Hi there,

Just read the Kampa UK description and wondered at something.

They state:

"The Motor Rally is designed for static camping and provides all the advantages our Rally awnings to motorhome owners."

My questions are "What do they mean by 'static camping' and how long does it take to remove the awning so that you can drive away?"

Best regards,

Prices

Post by shelldrake on Tue Jan 15, 2013 1:21 pm

Its on its way. I can thoroughly recommend A2Zcamping as Darren Young was extremely helpful. up!
Its NOT a drive away awning as it slides onto the veh awning and so would be difficult to unclip but it could be done IF necessaryn. !!!Unfortunately I didn't add VAT to the price so a bit more than I thought. I also purches 2 x storm straps, 2 x monsoon poles and 2 x upright poles Total incl postage £350. I dare say you would get them cheaper at shows tho.

Hi there,

My "Rule Number One" after purchasing anything significant is "Do not look at the prices elsewhere!" wave

I just know I could have found it cheaper if I had kept looking so why punish myself? tap_fingers

Enjoy it when it arrives! allthumbz

Best regards,

Agree

certainly agree as the price quoted was £230 and I gave a yell "Yippee" as I thought that was good (But as I mentioned forgot the VAT)
Origionally googled it and found dozens of links but some ranged as for as £388 for the complete kit! Darren ar a2zcamping was extremely helpfull too
