Withernsea, East Yorkshire

Post by tankie747 on Sun May 22, 2011 6:08 pm

Hi all, wave

We've just come back from Withernsea in East Yorkshire and we stayed at a Park Resort Park and were pleasantly suprised. We only paid £10 per night with electric hook up and you can put your awnings up too which was included in the price. We also got fun passes for the entertainment and they have an indoor pool. The pitches are spacious and staff and warden are friendly. Toilets and showers are in a Porta Cabin and they were very clean. A shop is on the site too.

Withernsea itself is a little dated but we went for long walks along the coast and you can visit a nuclear bunker which is just outside Withernsea if you are interested in this sort of thing. Hornsea isn't far away and worth a visit so is Spurn Point for Bird watching.

For £10 per pitch with electrics and passes we found it good value especially when we all need to watch the pennies. We had good weather which helps.

We had booked it on the internet a day before we went.

Tankie,
That is a very cheap price considering all that was included. £10 per night is the average for a CC c/l with e/l but without all of the other bits you had. One to be noted.

Never tried a Park Resort myself but have looked at their deal many times, also Haven, they both offer very good value outside of school holidays. Once schools break up , the price shoots up to around £40 per night.

Hi Tankie and thanks for the review
I know what you mean about Withernsea - It's not the most salubrious place in the world is it - But If you like peace and quietand beach walks -,and cycling as it's so flat - then it would be great and at 10 quid a night you can't complain can you.
Cheers
Stevo

We have also stayed at a few Park Resort parks and found them pretty good for the money up!

Hi All.

Stopped there a while back now. The Park resorts are good value for money. Ideal if you have kids. The bars normally have a family room with entertainment ( aimed at the kids ) but also have an adult only lounge. One I stopped at had a fishing pond for the anglers. You can walk into Withensea from that Park Resort but some of the others are a little bit more remote. Withensea itself is a little dated. It has a large supermarket. You can see it all of Withensea in a couple of hours. On the way from the resort into town there is a couple of good pubs, the first one you come to for food the second for friendliness and atmosphere. Dont expect 5 star. you get what you pay for.

Worth a try. Whisky. champagne
