Burford Caravan Club Site - Oxfordshire

Post by MrsCC on Fri Nov 02, 2012 4:29 pm

Hi all

On our way down to Bridgwater to see the carnival, we broke up the journey and stopped off in Oxfordshire - on the edge of the Cotswold at Burford caravan club site for a night.

This site has 119 pitches of which 41 are hard standing located on 10 acres. We took up the last hard standing pitch content – which we were glad of as it had been raining and the grass pitches seems quiet wet but no laying water visible. The site has planning application to convert 25 of the grass pitches into all weather pitches – a great improvement if passed.

The reception has a small shop with a few products as its coming to the end of the session. Wardens were ok, I expect they are tried after a busy summer and have just run out of “fuel” undecided

CC set up EHU and TV happyyes whilst Candy and I perused the site walkies . Lovely large areas with generous spaces or it certainly looked that way. 2 dog walks one as per photo and the other a grassed area – both good for dog walking/exercising. The site is laid out well.

Theres One toilet/shower block based in the middle of the site, which was very clean. The block had 2 areas for ladies with a total of 11 showers –excellent as there was no waiting in the morning. all good

Motor home service point, plenty of drinking water taps and grey waste points. TV is digital with the use of booster ariel on the bollard, TV without booster is non existent.

As for noise – some pitches do back onto a road which was noticeable during the afternoon but at night time this didn’t keep us awake so it can’t be too bad. Also it is near Brize Norton so some aircraft noise could be heard. Again this didn’t happen often and didn’t bother us at all. up!

The site is opposite the Cotswold wildlife park and close to the picturesque villages of Bourton on the Water, Bibury and Broadway.

On the whole a lovely site well worth a visit if you are ever in the area. lets_dance
