campsite reviews

Post by dot on Sun Oct 28, 2012 6:02 pm

Love reading campsite reviews but does anyone stay on sites where there is a frequent bus service outside the camp
My husband does the driving but he wants to get to a site and then hop on a bus to visit places of interest and perhaps
have a drink in a pub. Also now we have a bus pass we would like to use it before we lose it

Hi there,

Two things to look at when choosing a site:

1) On the Caravan Club site there is usually a description of whatever local bus services are available. up!

2) On the Google Earth site (available on PC's and iPads for free) if you zoom into wherever you are going it will show you where the nearest bus-stop is. up!

We have found this latter information to be particularly useful. The prior knowledge means that we are not waiting at a bus-stop for half an hour only to find that we are on the wrong side of the road!! Whistle1

Enjoy the bus-passes. They are the best introduction for us "oldies" since the State Pension! allthumbz allthumbz

Best regards,
