Morning All,

When this forum was started, several members gave some financial support to the forum, i.e. a say £5 - £10 donation and the title forum supporter added to the grafic by the name.

With so many new members, I was just wondering if all are aware of this facility to support the forum and to help keep it going from strength to strength.

Personally I will be making further donations as time goes by, unless a Moderater deems that the forum is fully self financing.

Finally, may I publicly thank those with the foresight to have a forum dedicated to us A/S owners

Morning All,

Following my post above, I have been trying to find the link on how to send a further contribution. But me being old 66 I cannot remember how I did it last time.
So moderators please post a " How to contribute" step by step for me and maybe others !!

Also with Marquis actively promoting (free for 1 year)the ASOC - hence lots of new ASOC members named in the ASOC monthly magazine, perhaps and I hope I am not being too bold, a permanent free "advert" in the back of the ASOC monthly magazine extolling the virtues of this FOC Forum would help new ASOC members. Cant remember if new members get a welcome post and an offer to contribute.

Kind regards,

Mike

Hi there,

Can I also point out that by purchasing ASOF "T" Shirts we can also contribute to the site and notice each other as well. allthumbz

Though, to be honest, it would be better this summer if they did an ASOF waxed jacket and sou'wester!! drinksallround

Best regards,

Yes indeed: this is an excellent forum. I want to contribute financially. But I don't know how to do so. I refuse to use Paypal, but am happy to send a cheque or pay by credit card. Can Admin please tell me how? And at the same time, accept applause?

Long may the Forum continue: it's essential daily reading!

Hi Dave,

I do have a Paypal account, but apparently it's not a necessity,

Done! Mind you, I clicked first on the piggy bank, with strange result! But the second try enabled me to make a couple of donations, without having to use Paypal (though Paypal process the payment and therefore collect my details! - no escape!).

Will be interesting to hear ASOC's response, as I believe that in the past they may not have been too responsive.

Hello Fellow Forum members,
I sent the following to the ASOC, hoping to get some mutual benefit for all A/S Owners.

On 12 July 2012 18:51, Mike Blake wrote:

Kind regards,

The reply and I received an ok to publish from the forum moderators.

Quote:
"Hi Mike,

Bit of a dilemma really as our club has a close relationship with Auto-Sleepers and any info we publish goes to A/S and dealership as well as mags. I think I will be overstepping the mark if I do an advert for the forum as others will want free ones too. We don't do ads (at present) but this could change subject to Committee approval. I might raise it at committee when I settle in a bit more. But I don't think A/S would be happy as we get them to approve any mods etc that we receive and it would be tantamount to A/S approving of the forum if it was published in our newsletter. A lot of members are aware of ASOF though.

Regards David" End Quote

My Final Thoughts:-
I am dissapointed with the ASOC Owners Club response to my suggestion. As far as my use of the phrase "free advert" is concerned, I was merely suggesting "an honorable mention " of the forums existance.
I am trying to understand why they do not want to publish the existance of our/your forum. It seems that they want some sort of exclusive deal with A/S. I always thought that friendly comeradery between all A/S owners is only to the betterment of all, including A/S. After all problems shared and usually solved especially by forum members makes happy owners who will promote the brand.
Totally confused Mike confused3

We have been through this before, not with David though, he has just joined the committee as editor.

We have extended the hand of friendship to ASOC several times, Admin and I think CC had a go before I did and indeed we still have an open offer of ASOC using that section on the forum.

I hope with the new committee they will rethink the situation. We are not after doing a takeover (we have many more members) we would just like tob work with them as quite a few active ASOC members are ASOF members also. A-S know of us and and have shown interest in ASOF,
There is an old fashioned attitude in ASOC relating to communication and monthly newsletters alone today are not good or quick enough as a new recruit earlier in the year posted.
