1001 nights Empty 1001 nights

Post by Jansellsbond Thu Oct 17, 2019 5:35 pm

Mrs. Jansellsbond and I  have just returned to the U.K. from our 1001 nights of fulltiming in Europe in our  much loved 2013 Broadway F.B.  395 sleeping sites  in 25 countries, 35,000 miles, 10,000 loo flushes, 6,000 meals, 20,000 cups of coffee/tea/wine/beer, 2,000 showers, 7,000 pounds worth of diesel, 5 passed MOTs, zero failures, 3 leisure batteries, 2 tyres, 5 trips back to the UK to visit family  dentists and doctors,   zero breakdowns, zero prangs, zero break-ins, zero gassings and zero fearful nights.   We have travelled as far west as Sagres in Portugal. As far east as the Danube delta in Romania.  As far north as the Lofoten Islands in Norway. As far south as Tarifa in spain.  The van still looks nearly as good as new inside and out with just a few niggly bits on the woodwork and the 142,000 dead flies on the radiator.  No major repairs have been necessary,  just a replaced water pump and fridge element ( both DIY). The hab door stay dropped off but a rubber ball on a bit of string and an elastic has been keeping it going for two years or so.  All in all a pat on the back for Autosleepers.

After months of negative comments on build quality, which seem to have dominated the forum,  it's great to hear such a positive report.

Totally agree Paul, it makes a lovely change to read a positive post for a change regarding reliability.

2013 van may be a clue......

Wow, impressive.  Would be interesting to see the results of an equivalent usage in 3 years time, using a 2019 model.

Not bad, you will soon get the hang of motorhoming. LOL.
That is very impressive.

Brilliant. Makes our 6 month continuous stint touring in a van seem small fry..

Nice to see you enjoyed yourselfs on your very impressive tour and returned safely.great to read your Puggie lasted the course.
It only goes to prove these vehicles were built to be used and not sit around for long periods ( like mine I'm afraid)
Would be great to see some photos of your tour

Takes my breath away just to think of all the planning involved. Amazing.

Your post - exactly as it is, short and straight to the point, should be used by AS for publicity purposes in all the magazines !

Some greens would object to all the dead flies, though.... smile!

With regret I reach the end of your blog. What a joy to see such brilliant photography and great commentary. I linked to the blog by way of Autosleeper Forum piece this morning and can say you have lightened a very dull day here in Torbay. May thanks
