Hi we are looking to buy an older Clubman perhaps around 97/98 or earlier if in tip top condition. We are based in Devon, but happy to travel for the right one.

Apparently I don’t have permission to send replies to people who send me messages which seems a bit bizarre, anyway NCB thanks for your response, but we’ve decided to go for a symbol rather than clubman.
PS to any forum admins out there I have to say that this forum is a bit quirky and not particularly user friendly...

This forum is very friendly and the best of the Motor Home forums.

If you have been on other MH forums you will see the difference.

I think it is 5 posts before you can send messages, what is wrong with that?

there are so many scammers and not very nice people out there , so have to have some security, it benefits us all.

The Clubman is a very nice and comfortable van, I should know I use to have one, only changed for one a bit bigger.

There are a lots of helpful and knowledgeable members on this forum, who are willing to help.

What ever you decide,
Good luck, and please be a bit more respectful, Admin does this forum at his own expense which is very expensive and all members are very grateful to him for doing so.

Best regards,
Margaret

Hmm.. I don’t believe it’s being disrespectful to think it a bit bonkers not being able to reply to someone who sends me a private message. Also the forums are awkward to navigate, for instance I’ve yet to discover how to read an entry and then go back to the thread without having to re-enter the search query. I absolutely mean no disrespect - just commenting on my own experience so far.

mods edit:-
The private message restriction was put on top abuse by 1 and 2 time posters to give some privacy to existing members.
The forum is a standard base with little difference to other phpBB based forums.
I very often have more than one thread open.   If you use one of the modern browsers you have tabs, nothing to stop you opening more than 1 tab for multiviewing

I use the "back button" to exit an entry and go back to the thread.

Hi Jeff - I understand what you mean. The forum setup has its quirks - for example it's quite rare to find a forum that's set up so that you can only edit your posts for a few hours, and then you can't edit your post!

And don't get me started (again) about the second subject field that you can fill in when composing a thread, but which other people can't see when reading your thread!

But, once you get used to it, it's generally a very good, helpful forum.
