As much as I found their after sales care to be absolutely appalling, I still wouldn't wish that on them.
Hopefully, it works out for the staff.

Are you sure it's Border Motorhomes?? There is a well delineated line between BM & BC (Parks)
News indicates that it is Border Cars
We were at BM last week and the Mazda were now under the Parks banner
B.M. were well (over?) stocked with new vehicles and looked in fine shape!

Poster on FB took delivery of new MH on 1st July. Phoned them yesterday to discuss some problems, was told they could do nothing as administrators were coming tomorrow.

We need a man on the ground to walk in and check things out. To far away for me at present, may be later on this month though by then it may be common knowledge!!

Sadly, this left many customers out of pocket:

Again, FB has comment that Perthshire Caravans are helping with warranty matters.

Autosleeper at Wilersley know about the situation, they say that it may be the financial tie up, if any exists, between BM & BCars that is the cause for concern over BM. They think that BM are prospering!

I think there is more than just a financial tie-up. Check out the bottom of BC Motorhomes website -...

Yes though all parties seem to be playing things close to their chests. There certainly was a multitude of new vans on Ayr BM site last week Perhaps Marquis may yet make a foray in to Scotland.

Re: Dealer calls in Administrators
This has just been posted on Facebook...
For any of you who have, or are thinking about dealing with Border Cars in Ayr, it would appear that the company is going into receivership. This subject was raised on another forum which prompted me to call them direct. Although there was no confirmation or denial from the staff member, her awful attitude would tent to lend credence to the suggestion that things aren't going well. Beyond any individual losers ( of which I am one) you have got to feel for the staff at this difficult time.

If the Motorhome division is doing well, then there may well be a management buy-out, it's happened before.frederic wrote:Yes though all parties seem to be playing things close to their chests. Re: Dealer calls in Administrators
Updated report on the BBC website.
Doesn't specifically mention BC Motorhomes, just Border Cars.
"One of the biggest car dealerships in south west Scotland and Cumbria is facing closure with more than 200 jobs under threat.
Dumfries-based Border Cars said it was in talks with up to three potential buyers.
However, it is understood a number of staff have already received redundancy notices."

Another report this morning, again no specific mention of the motorhome division and I see that BC Motorhomes website is still working. Border Cars are having a sale, perhaps BC Motorhomes will do the same.

Their Twitter feed was quite active. Anyone know if it's been updated over the last few days? I've been blocked by them otherwise I'd check myself.

Re: Dealer calls in Administrators
The managing director was interviewed on Borders TV this evening, 120 made redundant by text and they are trying to sell used stock to pay back customers who have paid deposits on new cars. Seems Kia pulled the plug and other manufacturers followed suit. Seems the Ayr branch was sold last year, I'm guessing that didn't include the motorhome section. The guy admitted they have been having problems for several years.

Well defined devision between the former B.C. Mazda dealership, which is now branded under the Parks name, and the seemingly thriving Border Motorhomes Site!

Re: Dealer calls in Administrators
dated 12 July from www.am-online.com/news/dealer-news/2019/07/12/border-cars-to-go-into-administration
Fiat, Ford, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Skoda and Suzuki dealer Border Cars is filing for administration, said its boss Mike Fusco.
He said he has tried to keep the business afloat but it has become less and less viable.
"It has become impossible to trade normally. Two weeks last Tuesday, with no notification at all, one of the franchises terminated me, and took the keys for that franchise. Within four days, every franchise had done the same."
It has six dealerships in Carlisle, Dumfries, Stranraer and Workington, and has traded for 42 years.
Fusco said the company has made half of the 200+ staff redundant and more jobs are likely to go in the next few days.
"Trading has been very difficult over the last few years and it's been getting more and more difficult," he said.
Fusco said "something spooked" the franchise partners.
"With ongoing rising costs, and the tough retail climate for the industry, it is with the greatest of reluctance that we are unable to continue trading," he said.
He said he has poured every penny he has into the business to try to save it.

Borders Cars Ayr was dissolved back in April according to Companies House, that's before the current issues.
