Teleco Wing Aerial Empty Teleco Wing Aerial

Post by dbnosey Thu May 17, 2012 8:40 am

I have had to remove the top part of my Teleco Wing aerial off my Warwick Duo to accommodate a Satellite dish. I have removed the four screws and removed the top part and now left with the base with the coaxial entry gland. If possible I would like to retain the base in situ so I can refit the aerial if and when I sell the van. How can I cover this, or is a blanking plate available. Any advice would be appreciated
Regards
Colin.

I don't think a blanking plate is made for the Teleco. You can get them for the Status but I'm not familiar with the Teleco so don't know the size. A chap in Buckley near me makes his own version for the Status (Ebay link below) he may be worth contacting about the Teleco..

dbnosey .... Colin - I had the misfortune to damage my teleco wing last year. I removed the top part leaving the base secured to the roof (just as you describe). A spoke to a guy at Birmingham show last year and they do make a blanking plate, but you would have to remove the base unit as well and replace with the blanking plate fitted flush with the roof (and sealed). I have left the base unit in place and just ensured that the cable gland was well sealed against any water ingress. My idea was to fit a replacement upper unit but it is almost as expensive as a complete "wing".
I realise your intention is to keep the wing meantime and replace it when you change vans, ....But .. if you change your mind, I am in the market for a wing!!
