Commercial site Barmouth North Wales

Hi, this is the site where my wife and I are seasonal site wardens.

Ok so it is quite a large commercial site, but come out of peak season and it is a quiet peaceful site. A footpath from the North end takes you across the railway (trains about every hour, single track, commuter service) to the prom and clean beach. Barmouth town being about 20 mins walk down the prom with a pub/ restaurant half way.

All campers made very welcome by us, the owners (private) and all other staff members.

There are hard standings with electric, grass pitches with electric (some with tv connection), and grass areas without electric. All the usual commercial site services including 2 toilet/ shower blocks (cleaned/checked regularly) launderette waste disposal etc, wi-fi. There is NO clubhouse, which is good!

Anyway, check it out, best to ring for availability but out of peak season space does not seem to be a problem. If you do come here, then ask for me and I will pop over for a quick chat

Ian

Hi Tommy,
is your site on the left as you leave Barmouth? down quite a steep slope? and used to have a takeaway/eat outside breakfast cafe?
used run a free mini bus into Barmouth.
I haven't been to Barmouth for a while now, parking is a pig when it is busy, couldn't walk from the site to Barmouth these days, but I think the drive in along the estuary road is one of the finest drives in Wales.

Hi breakaleg,

Yes that is the one. The site change ownership at the back end of 2009 and unfortunately the mini bus is no longer an option though the local taxi firm are reasonably priced.

The prom drive is beautiful on a nice day and even on a rough day when the views are not good the waves crashing against the prom can be quite spectacular.

Hi Ian,
Sorry, got your name wrong, it's been a while since we last come, always liked Barmouth, perhaps it's because the sun always shone when we were there , the previous owners could be quite stroppy over little things if I remember correctly.

The new owners and us staff are quite chilled on a lot of things but sticklers on others. Dogs must be tethered, and mess picked up, no open fires. Excessive Noise after 11pm is frowned upon. The 4 of us wardens have many years of caravan/camping and motorhome experience so try to run/manage the site as we would expect a site we visited to be run. Hopefully we have got it right for the majority. Obviously we will not please all people but we find the ones that pull a face when we bring them to task are inconsiderate folks who want to party hard round a fire basket until the wee hours with dogs running around pooing everywhere.

Fortunately these folks only really appear during bank holidays so the boxing gloves do not have to come out very often

You will receive a warm welcome ( and a forum calling card), but unfortunately I can not do anything on pitch fees.

See you soon

Ian
