Nuevo Concertina Cab Blinds Empty Nuevo Concertina Cab Blinds

Post by marconi Mon Mar 25, 2019 11:01 pm

Has anyone else noticed, other than the guy on You Tube, that the concertina screen blinds do not offer privacy. I checked today at the dealers and you can see into the van from the outside, looking over the bonnet under the blinds, even in daylight, but worse when the habitation lights are on.

Any ideas on a solution, we are thinking of maybe a couple of lengths of swimming pool noodles laid along the dash or a very long lightweight 'snake' like a door draught stopper.

I wonder if it explains the row of furry toys we see sat on so many dashboards.

Yes several furry crocodiles would fit the bill, or anything else long and low.

I thought of something else last night to cover the gap, lighter and will take up much less room to store, it can be disposable when it gets grubby and carry a replacement. A length of lining wallpaper 6cm tall and folded concertina fashion. I folded a test one up and tried it on our current dash today. it is self supporting with 6cm zig zag, been there on trial all day. It can be shaped to follow the hump in the middle of the dash, I will work on the prototype origami when the Nuevo comes home very soon.

I think the worse problem will be when the fellow comes to collect the pitch fee and you are pretending not to be in.

I use a black bath sheet ( just the right length ) rolled up tight. Blends in perfectly from the outside and absorbes any condensation runs when not using external blinds ( such as wild camping ).

I personally find that the tiny holes in the Hab door blind give the best view !!

Well the Nuevo has arrived so I could try my idea for an easy store solution to the free dance of the seven veils show each night.

First picture is the blind extension folded, in store in the daytime. It is made from plasterers joint tape which is strong stiff and durable paper folded concertina fashion to produce zigzag squares.

Second picture, the blind extension flicked out like a magician does a pack of cards it follows the dash contours, each end is hooked into the first and last fold of the concertina blinds. The bright sunlight is emphasised by the photo. you can tell no direct rays come in under the blind.
