Forum Pezzazz - Page 2 Empty Re: Forum Pezzazz

Post by TeamRienza on Wed 27 Feb 2019 - 14:53

I have been a member of this forum almost since the start, number 45 according to the stats. And I have never considered this forum to have any pezzazz. It does what it says on the tin. As a marque specific meeting place it is unrivalled in the 10 or so Motorhome forums I frequent. As a place for social interaction it is fine, but has the feel of a church meeting with almost enforced politeness. That is fine because people will either feel comfortable with it or will leave. All forums and clubs have turnover in membership for all sorts of reasons. This forum seems to score well in the number of people who no longer own Autosleepers but who are happy to continue membership.

I must admit to feeling that when the spat happened that the forum had finally come of age and sad as it might be that some depart, life goes on and none of us is missed after a while.

As Paul stated there are options for non homehome topics and it is down to members to post and create their own pezzazz. One of the things I admire about this forum is there is no threads on the European question. Now there is a topic that has damaged many a forum.

For many years I have belonged to a forum known as Pprune ( Professional Pilots Rumour Network) much like this forum it has technical sections, travel sections and item specific parts but there is one section called Jet Blast where members can discuss anything they wish, no holds barred and it does lead to some very lively, interesting and often informative topics.

Maybe there is a place for a "Wheelspin" section here, but I doubt it would be as popular.

Where that website differs from here, no offence intended as I am three score years and ten myself, is the age group of the members tends to be much younger, maybe one of the reasons this forum has a little less .... whats the word.... pazazz

That should make me popular! hugegrins hugegrins hugegrins

Yes it sure is, I even googled it as I only knew roughly what it means.

I'm up for a bit of pezazz so will post a couple of starters in the general chat section, see if others do the same and what the reaction is.

Of course I might still have the wrong idea what it is think_smiley_46

Just to help you here isn't it something you can get delivered to your home thin or crusty with garlic bread....or maybe I have been sitting in the sun too long.

I think what's missing is the light-hearted banter such as Bobskate just posted .

Not sure about that...

There’s another MH forum online that I look at occasionally and that suffers from people adding daft comments or in-jokes even when someone has asked a sensible question. Banter in light hearted off topic threads OK but if ASOF ever got to the stage of every thread descending into the silly then I’d leave.

As a moderate poster, as opposed to a moderator, I look at the forum every single morning and scroll down to topics I think interest me. I obviously missed the furore that went on which resulted in a departure or two and am sorry that was felt necessary.
I haven't noticed a particular drop in Pezzazz (sic) and sincerely hope this friendly forum continues long into the future. Forums (fora) are what people make of it and it's up to all the regulars to keep it on the right direction.
As an aside, the only other forum I visit has had one posting lately asking if it has finally reached rock bottom. So perhaps a little deflation compared to a deep dive is relatively respectable.
Chin up folks.
