It is so sad to see how this episode has ended, with such bad feeling by some and resignations by others.

Admin (Ed) has come in to mediate, unfortunately I think maybe it's too late, the atmosphere of the forum has changed. From what Ed has intimated the forum may not even survive. I hope he has a long think and decides to stay.

Come on people, no more agro and lets move forward and put things behind us, or lose the forum.

Leighton.

Such a shame that this Forum has generated so much ill feeling, because it really IS a very helpful and knowledgeable one.
As very technically ignorant owners of various elderly AS vans over many years, we have been shown how to put right many of the things that have broken or worn out in them, simply by asking for Forum members' advice. We were able to keep our previous Harmony going for at least an extra two years because of the repairs we were able to make.
It was Murph (sadly no longer with us) who introduced us to the Forum, when by chance our vans were parked together in Folkestone, and we have always been grateful.
He showed the friendliness and kindness which was the spirit of the Forum.
It would be great to get back that relaxed and wide ranging lighthearted approach in contributions.
For instance, we've had our 96 Talent for a while now, but there don't seem any new comments in the older van section. We don't even know if there are any other Talents still around!

It’s time to just stop now. Desicions made, accept final say from admin, his decision is final and respected. If you all feel the need to continue......take it to the grumpy old men section!!!

Enough now! This forum is one of the best there is....like I said, I’ve been in forums since the internet began  hugegrins .

Let’s not lose it. Get a grip guys!

Providing everyone feels they’ve aired their feelings then think it’s probably best to lock this thread. I will leave it open for another day before it will be locked. So if you have anything further to say be quick!

Nothing to add, CC, other than to welcome you as a Moderator (if my deduction is correct!)

I was at the centre of this dispute which took place over three different threads. That no one has actually criticised what I said, suggests I didn't step out of line. However, I am truly sorry it has ended as it has, but the Forum hasn't changed.
The Forum is the people who use it and it clearly is a great forum that has much to offer

It is those that remain that make it great, it is even possible for the members to make it better than it was.

I think the thread has run it's course, even I am repeating what has been said before, sorry.

Hi wave

What goes on? I go away for a while and come back to something resembling face book rather than the forum we all know and love.

AllaFEvans wrote:That no one has actually criticised what I said, suggests I didn't step out of line.

Only because we didn’t get the chance to!  think_smiley_46

The original thread became abusive and was quite rightly shutdown but shutdown before the “discussion” had run it’s course.

Moderators closed down another thread to stop worsening aggravation, believing enough had been said and look what happlend to them. If everyone is fed up of a thread it will die a natural death

Willy.  Unless it gets personal. Therefore stop it at source, otherwise there will be more people unfortunately leaving this great forum.

Please keep the forum going Ed. I agree wholeheartedly with the outcome. It was becoming intolerable. Very glad to see kaspian reinstated and I fully support others who were affected. I too on occasions became the subject of these responses, they became very predictable. I had stopped joining in!  Hopefully now we can move on and enjoy a brilliant forum. Pete
