no oven? Try this....

Post by Bev on Thu May 31, 2018 8:02 pm

We no longer have an oven in our small campervan and whilst we don't want to cook a Sunday roast, warming quiches, meat pies etc would be very useful.
So, we've made a lid for our portable electric griddle out of a cheap roasting tin (£ shop) and added a knob from an old pan.
With a little squirt of spray oil and the griddle on nice and low, pies heat up really well. We've even added a few precooked small potatoes round the edges- again give them a squirt with some spray oil and a good sprinkling of ground salt and paper.
We wouldn't cook 'raw' pies etc this way but for warming it works very well for us.
Give it a go....!

Good thinking! I cooked a pizza in a similar way, put it in a large frying pan with the lid on and over a low heat so it didn’t fry.
