Amethyst SL OR Rienza

Post by daisy mae on Tue Nov 28, 2017 8:40 pm

After being badly let down and doing 1,500 miles in the last week, now looking for an Amethyst SL or a Rienza, on a Mark 7 Ford or a Mark 6 with the 6 gears.
Cannot believe the rubbish out there, damp is rife,  lost count how many vans have looked at and found damp / rust or both on same van. Have been North, South ,West and East.

Want to stop with AS but have exhausted the models. apart from the two above if available.

Thank you for your help in the past, you have been exceptional, no forum could be better. Just mentioning just in case someone is thinking of selling theirs.

Very best regards,
Margaret

Small Family dealer

Post by missnips on Tue Dec 05, 2017 1:08 pm

Hi, just thought I would let you know we have found a small local Family Dealer who tend to mainly have pre owned Autosleeper vans and I believe they have a Rienza coming in very soon as we visited them last weekend and they explained in great detail the various vans layouts & what problems to look out for (we being novices were very impressed with their knowledge) the company is Venture Vehicles Ltd in Ashbourne Derbyshire. Hope this might help.

It had to be a mark 6 as no mark 7 `about, unless I had the Hampshire that I viewed, I really wanted a Monocoque,

If I see a good one later especially a Gem will change, at the moment or will have more room, a bigger loo and a dinette which was on the list. so happy about  that.

Not a VW but AS do not have a bigger model on that base vehicle than I already have, sorry to see my VW go though.  so_sad

It took me 2 years to find a MK7 Amethyst. I don't think A/S made many. A mistake in my opinion as they are a quality motorhome. I had the same problem as yourself looking at rubbish including newer A/S models. Enjoy your new motorhome.

Probably too late but Amethyst for sale in Scarborough. It's listed on wild camping website (link to that site not allowed) . Confirmed as still for sale this morning. Maybe you've already seen that one.
