Hot water tank drain down on Devon 2009 model

Post by Tonydi on Sun Nov 12, 2017 9:38 am

Does anyone know please how best to drain down the hot water tank? I have looked and cannot see any drain cock. I have purged it out as best I can with the pump.

Drain valve is inside van. Look for one of these and simply lift the yellow bit..

Or it could an automatic one like this, these open automatically when temp drops to 3 degrees to prevent damage to boiler but you can operate it manually..

On my 2008 there is a drain valve under the offside bench at the wardrobe end. It’s a yellow lever flip it to vertical to open the valve

Hi Tony

Look under the driver's side bench seat and you should find either an auto dump valve (which can be operated manually) or one with a yellow lever that needs lifting to dump the water.

Your van is essentially the same as ours but on the Merc chassis, so I doubt if the habitation setup is much different.

Our previous 09 Nuevo had a drain cock (blue ) located under the long bench in between the rear wheel arch and hab battery, it's the same on our current 08 Sigma
Hope this helps

Just a point, your van is not a monocoque it's a coachbuilt, just saying so you post any other questions in correct section .

More likely that it's absolutely chucking it down outside and nothing else one can do on a wet Sunday morning.    biggrin

Actually stopped raining at last here. Woke me up twice in the night, it was that heavy and blowing a gale as well. Patio under two inches of water.
