Moving the van down to Costa del Sol will raise it some.

It isn't a daft question.  As has been said before on this forum, no questions are daft questions.
On the other hand, there are quite often daft answers. But of course, you have already realised this having already had two!
Always in a spirit of friendly banter.

As far as I know it can't be adjusted, but I don't recall ever looking at our readout so I've never bothered to find out.

I have this wonderful sixth sense you see - the moment I open the outside door I can tell if I need me 'at an' coat.  snigger

Daft 1st question from newby Empty Re: Daft 1st question from newby

I've done a bit of research and it seems that it is most likely a wiring fault between the sensor and the ecu (probably a dirty connection somewhere giving a slightly higher resistance) The sensor itself may be located in the passenger mirror.

This may be of interest, and it's so cheap there's very little risk if it turns out to be useless.

From the description I think it should work on a single glazed window, such as the "quarter light". Not sure if it would be so good on a double glazed acrylic side window.

I've never really given any though as to where Sargent fit the sensor to read external temperature. I've seen the sensor adjacent to the leisure battery that controls the charger and I've dismantled/reassembled my passenger side mirror a few times but seen nothing there.

Daft 1st question from newby Empty Re: Daft 1st question from newby

The sensible place to fit it would be in the Hab area awning light. I doubt it is recieving a signal from the base vehicle external sensor/ecu.

On my Nuevo I am fairly sure that Sargent external temperature matches that shown on dashboard. And I also think that sensor is in one of the door mirrors on Peugeot/Fiat -  possibly different on Mercedes. I believe that the Sargent gets the info from the vehicle computer via pins 9 & 10 of the vehicle input plug to the EM50 which are specific CAN BUS connections.

That is the same EM50 pdf that I looked at. I have not checked my connector to see if 9 & 10 are connected but as my temperatures are the same (I think) I assumed that the sensor source is the same.
