Worcester with 3.0 Auto Empty Worcester with 3.0 Auto

Having had to go back to the drawing board, due to vehicles being sold, I’ve come across a Worcester At Cotswold Motorcaravans.
My concern is that it’s a 3 Litre Auto, and wondered if the fuel consumption would be horrendous?
I appreciate that it’s only 800cc more, and probably won’t be working so hard, so maybe not much different to the 2.2 - or am I dreaming ?

We were at Cotswold Motorhomes last week and saw the Worcester with 'Sold' on it. Although you won't go far wrong at Cotswold they are slow at updating their website.

Decided to give Cotswold a call anyway, in case the deal fell through. They only had the Worcester two weeks.
Had a lovely chat with the bosses wife, and left my number.
An old friend of mine dealt with, and recommended them years ago.

I had an 2010 IH coach-built with the 3 litre auto, and the mph was horrendous 18 to 22 on a good day. I just couldn't relax watching the dial go down plus the fuel tank was tiny with a range of around 300 miles.

Ouch !

My IH Tio R with the 3 litre engine and 6 speed auto box averaged 33.84 mpg. Measured physically, I.e. Full tank to full tank, over several thousand miles.

My J220 was a heavy beast with aerodynamics of a brick, even travelling at a steady 58 mph we couldn't drive from Tyneside to the Tunnel without topping the fuel up. It also only had a 5 speed box which was crying out for another gear, it was doing 3000 revs at sixty.
