winchcombe...any owners out there?
Hi just wondering if there are any fellow owners out there? We bought ours Miss Daisy last June and love here to bits. Took her to S/W France last year for 3weeks and she was a dream. Been away in the UK quite a bit this year but not in Europe...
Would love to hear from any fellow owners to compare notes

There are a few owners on here, the Winchcombe as you probably know is a later derivative of the Worcester both super comfortable vans! Yes you have to make the bed up at night but that layout in the daytime is without equal! Will be looking out for you if you make it to Cornwall.

Ah thank you Groundhog. Hope to catch up with some owners and yourself. Cornwall is on our list!
The comfort is superb. Yes we have to make beds up. Either singles or double. Both are very comfortable.....The bathroom and shower is also excellent.
No I wasn't aware it was a derivitive of the Worcester, thank you for the info.

Re: winchcombe...any owners out there?
Hello DaisyMay, we are also Winchcombe owners and love the van! We bought 'Lottie' (dont ask!) 18 months ago and have used her extensively. She was 3 years old at our purchase with 7000 miles on the clock - 18 months later she has now completed 25000 without any issues!
The main reasons for us getting this model were:
1. I wanted a Merc chassis
2. A 2 berth was what we required since our son has flown the nest (at present anyway!)
3. We loved the space the design offered - my wife didn't fancy a 'fixed' bed since it reminded her of a hearse!!
We too have spent a lot of the summer months in France - its so easy to drive a large vehicle there and other motorists seem to tolerate slower MH using country roads more than the UK. It's also easy to find places to stay even out of season; in the UK, it seems you need to pre-book if you want a specific location to stay.
We also frequently use the van as a mobile picnic site, taking our tea with us to reheat at a location with a view within easy striking distance of home!
Finally, we have found that the heating system is excellent and also use Lottie through the winter months as we will be doing again this year!
In short, we cant think of anything we want to improve, and, unless we have significant changes in our circumstances, do not intend to change the van any time soon!
Andy

Hi Andy good to hear from you.
We are hoping to set off on extended tours next year both in the uk and France. We took our Miss Daisy to France last year and she was brilliant on the roads there. I agree, the U.K. Roads are not geared up for m/h... nor for us out of season either. We are a bit apprehensive to just park up and stop over night.
We love our Winchcombe she is proving to be everything we need!!!! Our dogs love her too....

Hi Miss DaisyMay,
We bought our "Winnie" (but what else could she be called???) new in 2014. Love her to bits, as we do our chihuahua ensemble.
We've all been abroad but only to Spain, Portugal, France. The Mercedes side has never missed a beat since purchase and 15K miles. All mechanical servicing is done by our nearby Mercedes main workshop, and strongly recommend the very trustworthy and reliable Auto Sleeper's repair works at Willersey - been there a few times.
We are members of the Motor Caravanner's Club (MCC) and Camping and Caravanning Club (CCC).
We wish you well with Miss Daisy and hope to see you on the road somewhere, sometime?
Best wishes from Barry, Ve, etc.
