Yes Paul that is the one I was going for, then had a closer look and it has damp, veneer peeling off on side of wardrobe, above left, and the over cab cupboard door it is peeling along the edges. the pelmet on NS back of settee has damp stains, that it was I can see, goodness knows what other damage there is.

Did ring them yesterday , as was going up there today, then saw he damage, they checked it and took it straight into the workshop, off sale. he  is ringing me today with the extent of the damage.

So thank you that is the one I really liked, just goes to prove you have to look behind the facade.
Best wishes,
Margaret
I wish I had your eyesight Margaret. I can see the damp on the padded pelmet next to smoke alarm but can't see the other problems you can see. I really put the Fun link so you could read the reviews on the dealers.

Thanks Rose, not heard from you for a while, I know you think I am mad,  hugegrins

Had another look on eBay, there are three now, top one have viewed, needed work,
                                                                     2nd one 93,996 mileage

3rd one that`s the one in Perth, damaged, have rung about that one, looks a lovely van really taken with it at first.

Thank you anyway, it all helps,

on autotrader,

Top and bottom one are the same , that was the one test driven,I am still taken with that one, have been looking into it further, seemed short on power engine wise, plus it is a newer model.otherwise good.

2nd ome in Devon haven`t seen that one to view, prefer the layout of the test driven one, two long settees.

3rd one 93,996 mls

4th one    viewed fixing a few issues.

Thanks , couldn`t get a better forum than this one, a credit to you all. allthumbz allthumbz

One of these days hopefully I will be back and say I have bought one,  up! I am hoping it will be sooner rather than later.

That looks a nice one Paul ,it is the engine does anyone know about this engine , if it is the same as the 2006 that was test driven that was the  only thing didn`t like about it,

If this one at Cotswold is better then will view.

Thanks ,looks promising to me, hubby won`t even look at it as it is 5 gear, wants to go to Perth, I don`t gone off it.

As it is my van and I will be buying it, i say my say goes. I was relying on his advice re engine, I say give it a try. Can see a problem brewing here.  so_sad

If it wasn't a good one, Frank wouldn't be selling it - he wont have it long.

Thank you Paul, went to view it yesterday, not impressed to tell you the truth, hadn`t been that well looked after and the lounge was too small, don`t know these things until viewed.

Came  back from Perth, yesterday, went to view the Amethyst Gem, I had put a deposit on it, told it was dry and all the work had been done which I had found and told them about, wood work repaired. a three day trip and nearly 800 miles , get there and found damp under the nears side settee, a crack in the loo basin on the edge which wasn`t there  beofre the work shop moved in.

No way would they budge on price. when we left it was back in the workshop to have the settee moved out and the floor done.

To say I feel drained ia an understatement, called in at Spinney before coming home, saw the Sandhurst and a Rienxa, liked the Rienza was going to go for it, have a test drive tomorrow, but I looked at the MOT `s for it, doesn`t look good. Rust chassis.

So now back at square one, still  want an Amethyst preferably a Gem. no vans about,  have looked all over  the country. none that are suitable .

Thank you for your help, cannot buy what isn`t isn`t there.  so_sad

I see the Perth one is back on eBay.
We were at Spinneys last week looking at a different make, noticed they had a latest shape Nuevo ES. How people can part-ex a van without cleaning it out, I don't know, crumbs and peanuts all over the floor but also how can Spinney put it up for sale without cleaning it out as well I don't understand. We looked inside another coachbuilt they had and the cupboards had food in them as if someone had been living in it!

To be honest Paul, all this searching  for  weeks up and down the country, not to mention the cost , time but it is draining,  when you see the rubbish out there, just wish mine was big enough to keep.

I was going to test drive the Rienza which is at Spinney tomorrow, cancelling now after printing off the MOT`s, this year alone , Off side Front heavily corroded. . others corrosion, can`t be doing with that, after have a rust free van. why on earth don`t owners have the vans waxoyled as soon as they get them.

Now more disillusioned  than ever.

Hi Mick,

Thank you ,

The Ravena has L settees and I need the two singles, thank you for telling me,

Just arrived home,  went to Gloustershire to look  at a Hampshire, a bit of damp from the roof struts across the van, not bad registered 18, van a bit bigger than I was going for,but a possibility, if could find one nearer home with no damp and service history, this one hadn`t anything in the service book, 31,000 on the clock.

It is the first Ford that have seen without rust. it is a Mark7 and the chassis is different to the Mark 6 that have seen up to now. which all had bad rust issues.

I do thank you for all the help.
Best regards,
Margaret

Did you get your deposit back?. Andrew told me the other day, if I put a deposit on he wanted £2000, and if I cancelled I would have to pay 10% of the price of the van.

So what does that say about them, for instance a partner could have died or become seriously ill,  then have no choice but to cancel and then have to find the rest to pay the 10% no way. what a firm.
