Anyone coming to Southport on Thursday (or Friday)?

We are coming Thursday, looking forward to it.

See you both there. Make yourself known cyclo. Can’t miss the big ASOF sticker on the back of our Warwick. This weather you won’t see the one on the front Silverscreen will be on !

I have one next to the hab door as well and will have an illuminated Reindeer outside - well that's the plan anyway. Will you have your pole with the hook on it Roger?

We had hoped to make Southport this coming weekend, our first Autosleepers Rally.

We were on the reserve list awaiting a cancellation.

Unfortunately now due to health issues with both my mother and brother we will have to give it a miss.

So how was the Southport rally ?

Weather was good for Southport at this time of the year and I think all seemed to enjoy the weekend. This is a good venue

Apart from a possible trip to AS to fix a leak in the side door that’s it for us till February & March when we already have 2 rallies booked to look forward to

We are still out and have no wifi so briefly,

The weather was very kind to us this year. Victoria Park is the lovely location of Southport Flower Show and located in between the edge of the town centre and the Caravan and Motorhome site.

We visited Andrew Gormleys figures on Crosby beach. We timed the visit to watch the tide go out and the figures sequentially exposed. On Saturday we did the shops, the old town center is like a leap back in time and on Sunday walked a few mile in the dunes and back, it was very hot.

Several of us had brought the Christmas lights for the vans so at night were very pretty. At 5.30 on Sunday the town lights were switched on after an afternoon of entertainment. The road was closed and a fun fair opened - thousands attended.

Can you get parked near Andrew Gormleys figures Peter ? We would like a trip over next spring.

They stretch over more than a mile so plenty access points within half a mile or so. Check the tides before you go.

Was interested to read your info about Southport Peter. We are staying at a site in Southport (hope so! Not booked yet...) this weekend on the way back from visiting our daughter in Lytham. Have never been to that part of the world and had not idea that was where the Anthony Gormley sculptures were. I am making a collection of photos of the places we visit in the van and they would make interesting photography. Southport old town sounds interesting.

If I may jump in here. We were there yesterday.
There are three car parks, one at each end and one in the middle. They are all signposted but the ones at each end are pay and display, the middle one is free as its at the leisure centre. Its Crosby leisure centre on Mariners Road. L23 6SX
