Discount for no trade in

I have been looking at quite a few posts regarding dealing with dealers, I am naturally inclined towards haggling. I have seen a few vans I am interested in, Clubmans, and wondered what sort of discount, I could realistically expect, from their advertised prices, I will not be trading in and a cash buyer, as an example Spinney's have a clubman at the moment at £21,750, is it worth trying to push them down to say £19,000.

You could try, best to speak to Andrew Cooper (Sales Mgr) but Clubman Vans with the extra berth not that common.
As you know I had a quick look at this and it seems in good nick and will be one of the later models prior to the launch of the Gatcombe and Clubman Anniversary.
They will be busy next week end as its their annual rally and they always shift a few vans that weekend

Is it wise to haggle down to the last two quid?

A friend of mine learned the hard way. He did just that, and was very pleased with himself . . . . until a couple of things went wrong. Then the dealer was very reluctant to go beyond the bare minimum to fix any problem because he had so little "float" in the kitty to cover warranty work.

Our dealer (Cotswold Motorhomes) is not the cheapest, but if anything goes wrong, sometimes even when out of warranty, the response is always the same. "Bring it along and we'll fix it for you."

Some will disagree I'm sure, but I would far rather pay a few quid extra and know that I won't have a struggle to get things fixed if (more likely "when") something goes wrong.

Just my opinion. I'd be more inclined to ask for a discount in kind - say a bike rack or a Gaslow cylinder. That way you get the cash value, but at rather less expense to the dealer, so you are both happy bunnies!

I am working on the assumption that the dealer will have paid considerably less than the price advertised, and if there is no trade in and a cash sale they instantly convert an object which they have to look after and takes up space into money in the bank. I suppose it depends on the dealer, some will ask higher prices in the expectation that buyers will ask for a discount while others will ask for the price they need to stay in business.

IMO dealers are more inclined to give you a discount if you trade a van in then they have the profit from both vehicles to play with rather than just the one. 
We recently traded up and obtained more than we expected for ours plus £700 worth of extras on our new van including solar, second leisure battery and our Gasit swapped over with new hoses and connection.

We bought our first van from Spinney with no part ex. Andrew knocked off £1500 without me asking, I often think I should have asked for more.
