Site close to Woolacombe - Damage Barton

Post by Robbit M on Sat Jun 03, 2017 4:09 pm

Just spent three nights at Damage Barton near Woolacombe. Very impressed. Super clean, choice of hard-standing or grass pitches - with or without electricity supply. Good on site shop. Shower, Toilet and Washing Up block was kept very clean. Drinking water fill up point as you arrive plus facility to dump grey water before you leave. Plus of course place to empty and clean loo tank. And, last but not least - great view over the Bristol Channel all the way to Swansea.
up!

Used to be two separate areas for Caravan Club and Camping Club but no longer affiliated to Camping Club (pity cos they had the lower area nearest the sea).

The almost total darkness made star gazing a must, my wife is still wearing the "crogs" she purchased from the site shop (although worn down abit)

When we were there about 5/6 years ago, I remember that the hay store down by the coastal path, had a sign warning that adders liked to hide in it. I have a thing about snakes, I don't like them!

Yes I remember, we used to stare at each other in a strange sort of way, just like when two firms merge and the fence kept us apart!

We also remember the sign, passing quickly with the dog.

I also recall my van would not start one day, the lady in reception told me to use the payphone to call the breakdown service. My mobile had no signal, not been back there since and it was a Freephone, so much for customer good will. Pleased to say breakdown arrived within minutes.
