Carver 3600

Post by Leigh Evans on Mon May 29, 2017 9:15 pm

Hi again

I have finally got myself a 1998 Auto Sleeper Legend

the heater carver 3600 works but the switch has come loose and I would like the heater to be serviced by someone who knows about them for safety sake

Also the fridge is taking a long time to light on the gas, holding the gas switch down for over 2 minutes and it still is not holding the flame

Any of you lovely people have any ideas or tips for me please ?

Hope you can open this. There are addresses in the back. You can also find a caravan engineer around you by googling but think someone will soon be on to give you a name of someone they use around you.

The fridge problem sounds like the igniter, assuming you have gas coming through

Then maybe the gas jet or possibly the chimney is partially blocked.

The fridge uses flame detection, so if the jet is partially blocked or there's insufficient gas flow for some other reason, the flame will go out and the auto igniter should start to spark again.

If you're not a 'handyman' get your van a habitation check from an approved engineer. They will sort everything out and it's better to be safe than sorry. Get a recommended engineer. Also some insurers won't pay out on fire etc unless you have your yearly check. Might cost you more
to start with but will be worth it in the end.
