Gatcombe water tank leak

Post by Huffler on Mon May 22, 2017 8:00 pm

When filling the fresh water tank on my Gatcombe the level does not rise and water runs down each side of the tank apparently coming from some where out of sight on the top of the tank. This is odd because the pipe from the filler on the side of the van appears to connect to the bottom of the tank? The same thing happens when I stick a hose up the drain tap so it's not leaking from the external filler pipe. There appear to be a couple of brackets holding the tank in place so I could drop the tank down to have look at the top. Has anyone had any experience of taking a fresh water tank off a Gatcombe or Clubman and know what is on top that might be leaking?  Thanks

Believe there is an air vent on top of the tank.

Hope I'm not stating the obvious but if the water is coming from the top of the tank, doesn't that mean it's full ?????????

Mine,  which is the same as a Gatcombe does this when it is full, I use this as a guide instead of running in and out to check the gauge.

It sounds like it could be a problem with the water gauge or sender/sensor rather than the tank not filling.
