On our recent visit to lovely Yorkshire our water pump stopped working.  The water tank is full, when taps are turned on the pump run power light does not light up.  Having read the Shurflo manual I have checked the  earth connection which is good.  I plan to check the fuse next.  I have looked at the panel directly behind the pump switch, no luck.  I am guessing the fuse may be under the drivers seat ( which is very hard to remove) or underneath the wardrobe.  Does anyone have any idea of where the waterpump fuse may be located?   I am at a loss as to why the motorhome makers locate the fuses in such hard to get locations.
Thanks for any advice, Marie J

Sorry I cannot help on locating the fuses or pump. A friend has an '04 Nuevo ES but I've not been in it enough to hear, or see where the pump is. Experience says that some pumps live in tanks and some usually fairly close to their tank, depending on whether or not they're the submersible type.

Pumps can and do fail themselves, especially if they've been mistreated and allowed to run whilst dry. They can also 'stick' after a period of inactivity when a simple piece of manipulation or selective wielding of a Yorkshire spanner (I.e. a hammer) would jolt it back into life.

On our Adria the pump could be heard when operating and was fitted right next to the fresh water tank that took up the whole void under the dinette seat.

You've obviously found the pump under the offside seat (you can't really miss it). As for the fuse, I've never had to find it, so can't help but I've not seen any fuses anywhere else, so like you I guess it must be under the seat. As the pump draws it's power from the leisure battery, I suppose it make sense to assume the fuse will be located close to the battery. Are all other 12v items working i.e the lights?

I think your van will have the same system as mine. There are no fuses as such on the 12 volt control panel. The individual switches themselves are micro trip switches, and will click to OFF if there is a heavy current draw.
On mine there are only three fuses, located on the relay panel behind the driver's seat.
By the way, the relay/fuse panel looks hard to get at, but if it's like mine it's only held on to the seat frame with Velcro, and is easily pulled off to gain access.

Thanks for all of the information, I did start to try and remove seat before, didn't manage it.  I have now spotted two screws which allow access to leisure battery and a few fuses. Without touching anything the power light is now coming on and the pump is gurgling and trying to pump but no water is coming out of the taps.  I am wondering if there is a massive air bubble blocking the system.

Having just topped up the water tank, the pump now runs fine and water comes out of all taps. The problem my have been due to the van being on a slopping pitch.  At least I now know how to reach the fuses.
Thanks for all of the helpful advice.

Glad all ok now. But you've still not found out why the pump originally stopped working. I suspect that because it started to work when you disturbed the fuse/relay panel, maybe you have a poor connection there. I'd be tempted to pull the fuses out in turn and reinsert them with a smear of Vaseline on the fuse blades.

After some thought and your last post I also believe I may have a poor connection somewhere.  The pump began to work once back home, without any check of wires or fuses. As I understand, the pump will try to pump regardless of water level.  I have a an problem with the omnistep, which reads 1.7 volts supply. I have checked all visible fuses and earth connection.  I hate electrical problems!

You're right, the pump should spin when switched on regardless of water level. It'll pump air if it has no water.
I carry a fused fly lead, just a ten foot length of automotive wire, clip on one end to attach to battery positive, then a 10 amp inline fuse, and an insulated probe on the other end.
Just a method to get power to whatever it is that no longer works.
In the past I've wasted hours tracing wires, just to find the fault is in the actual item that's giving trouble.

The pump continued to work for long periods, then stop, this got worse and worse. The problem was a drip from the bottom of the pump onto the electrical connection, hence shorting out, bad connection etc. Because the pump is so hidden is was difficult to find the problem. New pump fitted now .
