junction box

Morning all , can anyone help me to locate the junction box for the 3 pin plug socket at the side of the fridge near the step button as you walk in on the right. Ive looked  under the sink unit but no joy.

I'm not familiar with the Ascot, what make of electrical installation does it have, Sargent or MES? Why are you looking for the connection?

I'm not familiar with that specific van, but on the later Sargent based systems you should not expect to find a junction box. All the joins should be factory-made within the loom, which is supplied to A/S as a complete assembly.

Do you know where the 230v circuit breakers are?

Not sure Peter, wife use the socket for her hairdryer and it stopped working after 5mins but no trip out.

If its a Sargent open the manual for the PSU2007 from the link above and you will see pictures of both the control panel that I expect will be over the habitation door and the psu (with circuit breakers) that will be in the back of the wardrobe

If its an MES system, there will be a box with breakers under a panel in the floor of the wardrobe.

I presume you've tried plugging in something else that is known to work and that other 230v services in the van are working?

Disconnect the mains from the van before you do this!

If you remove the fridge vents you should see a cable coming out of the back of the socket terminating, via a 3 way clear plastic plug and socket, in the wiring loom. The pins in those connectors are locked in place by tiny sprung sections of the pin. They sometimes don't lock in place and push back when the connection is made but still make connection till they get warm.

If you unclip and separate the plug and socket it will be obvious if a pin has pushed back.

Hi peter, found the problem with the socket, the connection behind the charger /fuse box had come off. Thanks again for the advice regarding taking off the fridge vents.

If its a 2008 model the wiring circuit wont be that different from the Wilton, Windsor and Eton which has a Sargent system. I would think its wired directly to the system
