Im thinking of buying a Nuevo but havnt viewed any yet. Can anyone tell me the following please?

What year did they start?

What engines are in them?

Do they all have the dpf fitted or just the later ones?

I only want one without the dpf but dont know what year they started fitting them on the Nuevo engines.

Can anyone help please?

Started in 2002 (I think). Fitted with 2 litre or 2.2 litre. Can't help with dpf but I don't believe I have one , mine being a 2006 2.2.

I think DPFs and catalytic converters came in with euro 4 Oct 2005, which practically cut emissions in half, but applied in January 2006. You can tell if euro 4 compliant as the tax rate is cheaper.
As an edit, it seems DPFs became universal with euro 5 2010

I have been searching the net to try and find what year they were first fitted to the Peugeot 2.2 engines but keep getting different answers.

Thought there are a few with Nuevos on here that might say what year their van is and whether dpf fitted or not. (Thanks Paulmold)

Easy way to tell if dpf fitted....
Wipe finger around inside of tail pipe end. If soot is present then no dpf fitted.

You might be better asking pug questions on a Pug van forum with zillions of members, rather than a specific Coach-Built Motorhome forum with, perhaps, a couple of hundred members with these base-units: I certainly found this to be the case with VW and Mercedes vehicles.

Rubbish! All diesels (even the very latest-spec with all the gizmos) will occasionally chuck muck down the pipe in an excess fuel demand from the lead-footed driver. This equals black stuff in the exhaust, according to my tech friends at Bentley. This was one of the reasons why the oil-burning Bentayga was so long being introduced, behind the petrol model.

Hi "Landyman" Ive got a 2012 Nuevo Euro 5 from new and my understanding is that was the first  year that DPFs were fitted . I was very wary of this at the beginning and kept away from starting it unless we were going for a trip ,that was a mistake , I might be wrong but since ive gone back to regularly starting the van ,we haven't had the problems with the engine man light that plagued us originally. Basically I personally don't find the DPF a problem that I thought it was going to be. The Nuevo is a great van and the Peugeot is a really good drive, hope you get what you are looking fore ,but don't be put off by DPFs     Regards    Paul up!

The reason that Im looking for something that does not have a dpf is because I run all my vehicles on 100% biodiesel that I make myself.

When an engine with a dpf goes into regen mode fuel is injected on the exhaust stroke. The fuel is vaporized and pushed through to the dpf.
Biodiesel does not vaporize as good as diesel and some of it is left on the cylinder walls and ends up in the sump........

Please explain how this happens as you have me mystified with this statement.

I'm sure you know a lot more on this subject than me but can Peugeot engines run on biodiesel and will the use of it invalidate the warranty.?

Any diesel engine will run on it provided it is well made.

The drawbacks are......
Problems with bio in sump if dpf fitted,
Some engines, usually older ones have rubber seals and pipes that are not bio proof and will eventually rot.

For example on my landrovers I can do a good few thousand miles before needing doing but I change the leak off pipes and fit viton seals in the injection pump.
On my Talbot Express Talisman I changed all the fuel pipes. I am looking for a spare injection pump that I can bio proof so that when mines starts leaking I can swap them over.

As for warranties, you need to check with manufacturer but I believe that Peugeot allow 30% bio.
Be very careful if buying homemade bio. There are certain standards it should meet.

I've seen the 30% figure that's why I asked the question with you saying you run 100%.

I would probably run only 30% if it was under warranty.
But the warranty on mine run out 22 years ago  smile!
