2008 Nuevo door strut Empty 2008 Nuevo door strut

Just back from a week at Weymouth and noticed the door would not stay open, a bit of wind and it would shut. So I noticed the silver strut on top of the door and the door frame. So on removing this I was supprised to see it has no resistance on the rod and it moves freely in and out. I was expecting a gas Spring type, does any one if this is correct or should there be resistance to move rod in and out. shrugg

I assume you have the DOMETIC SEITZ CaraD-R door. On mine the strut doesn't offer any resistance acts purely as a limit to opening width. The hinges do have spring clips providing some resistance but usually no enough.
