"Other comment" coming up Mike. smile!

Have a look at the TomTom GPS App for the smartphone or tablet. I've just downloaded it and I'm very impressed. Only about £11 per year including all the extras like Live Traffic.

You cab download if free and get 50 miles of travel per month to see if you like it. Can't be bad.

I've been using a Tomtom Go Live Camper and Caravan sat nav for nearly 4 years. Both the route planning accounting for size and the live traffic considerations work superbly and I have ample evidence of that. The annual subscription for the live service is well worth it as, as well as the planning, it has 'tailored' internet access for weather and facility search.

Further to the TomTom Smartphone App
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tomtom.gplay.navapp&hl=en
One huge advantage (to us anyway smile! ) is having it on two or more gadgets at once - quite legitimately.

I use it on the phone in 3D format as a straightforward satnav, as which it performs very well indeed.

Mrs Gromit has it on her 10" tablet in 2D format on the screen, so she can zoom in and out to see the bigger picture if we hit a road closure or deviation. She can then easily navigate us back to where we want to be.

It's dead easy to synchronise the routes and  "Favourites" on any number of phones or tablets, so you enter the data once and they all know about it. We have it on both our phones (for backup) and on the tablet. In France we find the phone/tablet combination works a treat. allthumbz

Hope this helps.

(I would also endorse Peter's comments about the "Go Live" as we had one and were pleased with it. Nothing like so happy with a Garmin, which really was a satnag if you had to deviate from the route. It often took 5 miles before it gave up, during which time you had no guidance at all, and were just hoping you were not going round in circles.)
