Login security

Post by RML on Fri Mar 10, 2017 7:34 am

Hi.
Came in today to catch up on the gossip and Firefox warned me that the login and password are not secure:
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Protect-your-privacy/Insecure-password-warning-in-Firefox/ta-p/27861
Has anyone else had this?
Cheers
Rich..

No I havnt and have just checked on another couple of computers along with my wifes id.

I am however having a bit of a problem with the latest Firefox uppdate on another site I help with.  The message is from the Browser but Trusteer report which is very good on passwords is not bothered about it.   I am currently removing Firefox on my main machine to reinstall - that sometimes helps but if you do this remember to sync your book marks first

Hi  wave

It’s a new “feature” in the latest update of Firefox. Nothing’s changed on the forum as far as I can see. It’s never been secure as such (no https), you can tell that by the lack of the little green padlock in the address bar but for the purposes of the forum (and many other sites) it doesn’t really matter (as far as I’m concerned anyway).

You can turn the warning off in “about:config”.if you want to (I have). I’m all for security but Firefox seem to be getting paranoid lately.

Don't be concerned by this message, having this alert does not mean that the forum is not secure. This is a simple indication dictated by the new standards imposed by the use of a secure connection protocol between the web server that hosts the forum and your web browser.
