New CAMC (previously known as CC) site

Post by Paulmold on Fri Feb 24, 2017 1:56 pm

Not a recommendation as it's not even open yet. I've not got my new CAMC book yet but I picked this up from the clubs forum. Its also now on the club website. Its an affiliated site on the clubs network. Luxury site just outside Shrewsbury, owned by Salop Leisure who actually sell motorhomes and caravans but major on holiday homes and parks. Swimming pool, spa treatments, pizzeria, café, electric bike hire, hot tubs, fishing etc etc etc. All pitches are fully serviced super pitches. Rates start at £20 for a couple in low season, through £25 mid season to £30 high season. Opening end of April but taking bookings now for arrivals from 15th May.

Looks like it used to be a CS, from reading the 2 reviews on UKCampsite, one in 2012, the other 2015. Looking at their website, I doubt we'll be going anytime soon, or at all.  Not our type of site, all-singing, all-dancing, complete with glamping.

I notice it is not yet open, so a new site.  The cynic in me wonders why they have teamed up as an AS with the CAMC; members get a "generous" £1 discount, but their own website doesn't even display their fees, you have to request those by completing a form!  How ridiculous, any site which won't display their fees on their own website wouldn't get my custom, that's for sure.

Why do you think they want your email address to send you the fees? So they can send you special deals news of events and of course as it belongs to Salop Leisure, they can also send you promotional material.
The fees are on the CAMC website for all to see.
Not our usual type of site but may give it a go in low season as it's only 30 odd miles from home.

Yes, I realise that really all they want is my contact details, so I can receive more junkmail than I already do!  Have seen the prices on the CAMC website from your link, cheapest would be backend of the year at £20 minus the £1 discount for CAMC members.  If it's only about 30 miles away from you, then it would be interesting to have a look, not too far.

Would Motorhome and Caravan Club not have been a more snappy title?
That's how I will refer to them henceforth.

MCC- that has a certain ring to it...........
