Post by Eltel on Wed Feb 15, 2017 1:08 pm

Looking for some more extra external storage for my new Nuevo

Mainly for chairs plus bits and bobs

I sure this has been covered before so if you can point in right direction

Manufacturers?
Sizes ?
Costs?
Fitting costs .

Cheers

Two main manufacturers - ,Fiamma and Thule/Omnistor (often under the name Carryall).
Look on eBay for both new and secondhand for sizes and prices. Do you have a bike rack to fasten one to?. If not then there are lots of metal fabricated boxes that can be mounted on a towbar.

Hi Terry

A simple question from a fellow EK owner - do you really need extra space?

Since you've only had the lovely new van for a fortnight, I would suggest you don't panic until you have been for a few trips and identified what you really need. I was just the same as you, but with a bit of care and forethought it's surprising how much you can get into a Nuevo.

We couldn't get our chairs in, so we went to the NEC show (it's on next week) and bought some new ones. Much cheaper than an unsightly and vulnerable back box, and as it turned out, much more comfortable than the old ones.

Just a thought.

Not Panicking

Just want to knows what available so I can
have a look at the NEC next week

Reluctant to buy new chairs as we both like
the ones we have.

A back box was always in the plan when
downsizing, but easily detachable as not
always needed

A towbar is perhaps for the future anyway

since 1987 and don't make rash decisions

What are you trying to say Dave? I think our back box is quite a stunning addition to the aesthetics of the vehicle  hugegrins

Hi Terry,
Ours is the largest Fiamma Ultra Box 500 it sits on the Fiamma bike rack. Quite expensive at £449.99 from www.AgentFiamma.co.uk but it does get used a lot.

If you google "Daken storage box" there is a range of sizes from 500mm to 1.3m width £60 to £200 as fitted to commercial vehicles. May be ok for your plans

Andy, you are close enough to Camperlands/Agent Fiamma at Sharston Ind Est to go and look they tend to be a lot cheaper than dealers and other accessory shops.   Got my 320 box from them
