2002 Executive side window hinge strip

Post by Archer1951 on Fri Jan 13, 2017 6:29 pm

Hi, does anyone know if there is a source for the hinge aluminium hinge strip on the large acrylic side windows on a 2002 Executive? I've tried a search on the internet but had no luck so far & Autosleeper don't have it. They informed me that the original Italian based manufacturer had ceased trading.
perhaps if anyone knows of a good related breakers source they might be aware of would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi, I failed miserably when taking the windows out of the vehicle to send to EECO for replacement. I did one side OK but lost balance on the step ladder taking the other out. The window came away immediately which took me by surprise, I lost balance on the steps I was standing on & consequently one twisted the end of the aluminium extrusion cracking away from the acrylic window. comedy of errors. The lesson learned, get an assistant to help.

Fortunately for me when I informed EECO they were unfazed & assured me they would be able too put it right.

In hindsight as a city & Guilds trained Coachbuilder with over 50 years working experience I should have known better.

I put the way I removed the windows in another post to help a member but unfortunately his are a different style.

I will add I made a pretty good repair job myself before sending it away  up!
