talisman bed lengths

Post by Bob and Joy on Tue Jan 10, 2017 6:15 pm

Hello, we have a clubman at present but would like something a little bigger - can anyone tell us if the beds are useable as singles without any lengthening with extra cushions in the talisman ? My husband fancies the wider one so I suppose the narrow one would be my Lot !!!!

To get the max single bed(s) length in the Talisman (depends on the year??) ...in a 2001 GX model, each single bench side seat is made into a bed (differently) as follows:
Nearside bench seat...push/slide passenger seat as far forward as it will go ..this reveals a loose cushion block behind the seat..take this out and insert into the gap created by the drop down extension to the front end of the seat. Removing the long back-rest and storing by the rear door, gives access to the full width of the single nearside bed.
Offside single table seats...(2) Remove table and store in cab area. Rear table seat slides forward on runners to fill half of gap left by table..backrest drops flat. Forward table seat slides backwards on runners to fill other half of gap left by table..backrest drops flat after pushing front cab driving seat as far forward as it will go and folding wooden support flat.
It all sounds more complicated than it is in real life.
The beds are only really comfy for persons up to 6 ft. in height/length.
Good luck

Thank you very much - similar to the clubman by having to push the front seats forward- we were hoping this would not be necessary - the talisman we fancied is a long way away so it saves us a long journey - we are grateful to you

Hi Bob & Joy

Have you had a look at the Executive this has two longer settes/bench seats with arms at the cab seat area.To make the singles up you push both cab seats forward and the arms simply lay down on the back of the cab seats

Hi, thank you very much - we think we would like either the executive or the talisman but there seem to be more talismans for sale than execs. The clubman is a bit more finicky for single beds

We need to sell ours or exchange it before we can buy - it is only for a wee bit more space as hubby loves his VW !!!
