Mirrorguards & Windscreen Cover
Just in the process of purchasing a 2016 Nuevo
My present van is a Knaus on a 2012 Fiat Ducatto chassis the new van is on a Peugeot chassis
Will my existing mirrorguards fit the new Peugeot based Motorhome
Also I have a silver screen cover which I use in the winter months on the Knaus, will this also fit my Motorhome

I have no experience of Knaus and I would be surprised if any of the other members of this forum have.

Although Fiat and Peugeot cabs are identical, both vans were face-lifted in 2015 so I don't think your silver screens will fit, the windscreen shape being different. As for your mirror guards, was your Knaus a coachbuilt or an A Class? If coachbuilt, there is a good chance the mirrors will be the same.

As Paul has said the silversceens are unlikely to fit. The company produce different products for pre & post facelift. Mirrorguard specify just one cover for 2007 onwards but do differentiate between long and short arm versions. My 2016 (Fiat) Nuevo has long arms.

Eltel, Presumably you are familiar with what your old old van looks like. And as you are buying another you presumably are aware of what that looks like. If the cabs look the same there's a good chance the screens will fit, likewise the mirror guards.

It's a coachbuilt so the body manufacturer does not matter as I said it's based on a 2012 DucattoPeter Brown wrote:I have no experience of Knaus and I would be surprised if any of the other members of this forum have.

Yes that's my thoughts I'll keep the bits when I exchange the Motorhome, if the don't fit I can always sell them on fleabaymatchlessman wrote:Eltel, Presumably you are familiar with what your old old van looks like. I don't think the face lift in 2015 (mentioned earlier by Paul) made any difference to either screen or mirrors, but why not have a look on their respective websites. They ought to specify what years each will fit so you will know for sure then.

Re: Mirrorguards & Windscreen Cover
Have you actually looked at the websites Dave?. Silver screens website does not list what they sell, it shows 'whats new for 2014, 2015 and 2016 but nowhere can you find a Peugeot or Fiat. Taylor-made is better, it does show Peugeot from 2007 to 2014 and another for 2015. The windscreens look identical but I suppose they can't be otherwise why list two different screens. Both companies may be good at making covers but both are pretty useless at web design.

Re: Mirrorguards & Windscreen Cover
Silversceens have a different fixing arrangement due to the shape/profile of the mirror arms. I also think there is a grill under the screen on the pre facelift van but that is from memory so may be erroneous.

And the thickness of the interior blinds has changed so older screens may not fit over the newer thicker blinds.

Re: Mirrorguards & Windscreen Cover
Whatever extras you leave with your previous van is surely a bonus for the next owner. Therefore it's common sense to remove whatever you think might be useful for your new van as saves repeat buying. As you state, silver screen and mirror guards you can sell on if they don't fit.

Re: Mirrorguards & Windscreen Cover
Further to my last, only this morning did we attempt to fit a Hindermann Four Seasons External Fold down Thermal screen to our van. This was inherited with the used 2008 Nuevo but have never used it because we previously bought Silver Screen for Ace Milano and has been used for the three A/S vans thereafter. It appeared to fit snugly over the windscreen but not so over the doors. The inner plastic 'envelope' bit that slides over inner glass didn't seem generous enough for the thickness of the doors. Question being, although originally supplied with the Nuevo, did the previous owner use it successfully or was an ill fit from the start? Anyway, have decided to sell it if anybody is interested

Re: Mirrorguards & Windscreen Cover
Having bought a 'van with the new face-lifted cab body I am considering buying a widescreen cover and have spoken to a couple of people on sites with similar new Ducato vans.
Both of them have transferred their windscreen covers over to the new vans and they fit perfectly. It would appear that any face lift was carried out below windscreen level.
Having looked at the websites I did notice that one of the companies (can't remember which one) mentioned that they do a different version depending on the interior Remis blinds fitted. I think there are two version of Remis, one on a horizontal slider and one swinging from horizontal to vertical.
Ours has the latter version and the door profile is quite slim, so again an older version of screen would fit.
As Paul mentioned above, the screen company websites aren't all that clear and it would be wise to ring both of them for clarification if you do need to buy a new one.
Notts ever simple these days is it.
