Nuevo sink leak Empty Nuevo sink leak

Post by Justin Case Wed Nov 09, 2016 12:02 pm

I have just had my 2005 Nuevo ES into my local repairer for a water drip from under the sink in the shower-room. He was amazed to see that the connection pipes between the taps and the flexible pipes within the motorhome, were rigid copper with soldered fittings at each end. The leak was caused by the joints between the copper pipes and flexible piping being incompatible. Has anyone else experienced the original fitting of copper pipes rather than the braided flexible pipes, or have my pipes been changed by a previous owner.

My Nuevo ES is a 2006 and I've got braided pipes at both sink and washbasin and they join to plastic pipes. I've changed the sink ones as they sprung a leak.

Thanks Paulmold.
If mine had been braided, they could have been replaced easily. Instead, my 'van was in the workshop overnight. Not the best idea by previous owner.

The use of rigid copper does seem strange when you consider all the flexing that goes with using a motorhome plus how did he get the copper to join with plastic pipes? Obviously he didn't otherwise you wouldn't have a leak.
